At Building Green 2024, we designed and built the first thing visitors saw: the entrance to the event. We also added mellow pods and a lounge, all made from upcycled materials and connected with our mellow joint system.
Challenge
Building Green is an event about the future of sustainable construction, so the organisers wanted infrastructure that practised what the event preaches. They were looking for a way to showcase upcycled materials in a space that still felt welcoming and well designed.
Solution
We designed and built the event entrance, a set of mellow pods and a lounge, all using upcycled materials. The mellow joint holds the structures together without permanent fixings, so every part can be taken apart and used again. Visitors could see circular building in action from the moment they arrived.
Outcome
The organisers were fascinated by the mellow joints, which can be reused again and again. Building Green 2024 showed that a high-profile event entrance and meeting spaces can be built circular, and that the same parts can go on to a new project afterwards.
